Eye Care for Kids

Annual Eye Exams are Important

Young children usually have no sense of whether their eyesight is good or not. Whatever their vision is like, it’s their “normal.” So it’s important to have your child’s eyes examined regularly, even if you haven’t noticed any specific problems.

We recommend bringing your little one in as early as six months old so we can ensure their eyes are developing correctly and catch any problems early. Then we suggest returning once a year to keep their eye health on track; because their bodies are growing so quickly, children’s eyes can change dramatically within the course of a year.

70% of Everything We Learn Comes Through Our Eyes

Imagine what kind of disadvantage an undiagnosed vision problem can be for a school-aged child. We’ve seen so many cases where attention and learning problems end up being a prescription issue – putting the right pair of glasses on a child can improve learning, behavior, attention issues and more.

School Screenings Aren't Enough

School eye screenings are a great way to flag children with vision issues, but they should never replace a full exam with an optometrist. Whether or not you received a notice from your child’s school about possible vision issues, you should schedule an optometrist appointment to ensure their eyes are healthy and strong.
